Goodbye 2020

I know I have not posted in a few months and I am sorry about that! Here is my goodbye letter to 2020. Dear 2020, You were probably the most odd, frustrating, liberating, complicated, soul sucking, time warp year yet. I am glad to say you are gone. However, I get the feeling your sibling 2021 is not much better. Overall you had your pros: 1. Real Estate market boomed in Central Oregon. 2. I am blessed to have a job that can work pretty much from anywhere.  3. Camping was only temporarily effected.  4. You helped me learn the hearts of people.  5. I was able to spend more time with both of my kids.  6. I reconnected with my horse and rode her more than ever.  7. I remembered why I fell in love with Central Oregon.  8. I grew closer with the Lord.  9. My husband and I both realize how much we love each other and are glad we have one another to hang out with. 10. Zoom dice games with the family and friends are really not THAT bad.  And of course you ...

Clutter Wars Part 3

Hello Readers,  I hope you have been enjoying this little segment on how to declutter your home. I think I have watched enough HGTV to think of myself as a pro but I know that is a lie. Here is an article I think has some really good tips to help tackle on the clutter.  Now don’t panic. I won’t be telling you to throw away everything that falls within the above definition of clutter. BUT once you get a clear picture in your head of what constitutes clutter you will be better able to deal with it! In the next installment we still start in one small place to give you some practice in sorting through all that clutter.  Cheers,  Elle  Like my content? Clutter Wars Part 2

Good morning Readers!  Since we are on the subject of clutter (or getting rid of clutter) I thought I would insert some personal tips I have been doing. I am beyond guilty of over stuffing my house. I have SO MUCH stuff! I have collected a lot of stuff over the years and part of that is because I would consider myself to be sentimental. A lot of the things I have hold value to me. Not in a fiscal way but a memory way. As we get older I think we tend to hold onto our stuff a little more. I like to think that I am the type of person who would not care if their house burned down tomorrow as long as I have my pictures. But as I keep looking back, I really don't think I am. Obviously, I would have to adapt to my new situation but I would really, and I mean REALLY miss my things. I have a wide variety of stuff, like most of us do. I have things from my great grandparents, my parents, my grandparents, my aunts, my sister, my first drivers license, etc. I keep telling myself "one day...

Clutter wars part 1

Hello Readers,  Is it just me or does everyone go through a "winter clean out"? We are getting our home prepped for the winter time which can be pretty long and sometimes hard in Central Oregon. I make a winterization checklist every year and part of that is decluttering our home. Over the next couple of days I will post some really interesting articles on how to overcome the clutter wars in your home. These articles are more about how to not continue to fill your home full of clutter. How to teach yourself some new habits (I AM GUILTY!) and how to get rid of some of the things you own and feel no attachment to. I hope you find these tips helpful!  * Garage sales are events you stage, not events you attend. Unless you are a professional junk or antique dealer, there is no reason for you to ever attend a garage sale. Think of them as the entry level drugs offered by the clutter “drug lord” to get you hooked. * Discover the joys of borrowing. Let’s be honest. There are som...

Tips to Improve Home Curb Appeal

Good morning readers! I was at a listing yesterday and was asked "what do I need to do to improve my curb appeal". This is a question I get frequently. Especially in the fall & winter months. Most of our clients are not sure what to do when it comes to preparing the outside of their homes. The cheapest as far as cost goes is clean. You want your outside to reflect the inside of your home. Neat, clean, and clutter free. With a little sweat equity you can achieve this. However, I found this great article on some simple steps to improve your curb appeal without spending a small fortune. Enjoy! Cheers,  Elle  Like my content?
